Starting with a personal decision, I opted for a business class flight from Belgrade to Rome, a strategic move considering the impending launch of Air Serbia's frequent flyer program. The initial plan was to fly economy, but with no award seats available, business class it was!

Belgrade Airport was bustling, a common sight on days with a high volume of Air Serbia departures. The premium check-in process was smooth, and I was able to utilize the egate machine for passport control, a quick and efficient way to start the journey.

The Air Serbia lounge, with its early opening time of 5 AM, provided a relaxing pre-flight experience. A diverse selection of food and drinks was available, setting a positive tone for the trip.
Boarding and Cabin Impressions

The flight arrived in Rome half an hour ahead of schedule, a pleasant surprise. However, the ground handling experience left much to be desired. Upon arrival, the Italian ground handler informed the crew that no buses were available due to an unexpected early arrival. This resulted in a 20-minute wait for a bus to arrive.

The passport control line at Rome Airport was a frustrating experience. The police officers manning the booths were more focused on socializing and drinking coffee than processing passengers efficiently. My own experience involved a lengthy wait while the officer handling my passport engaged in a lengthy conversation with a colleague, completely disregarding the line of people waiting.

The baggage carousel situation added to the delays. By the time I reached the carousel, over an hour and a half after landing, the bags had just started to appear.
